Time Keepers – Report to the Spinning Wheel!

We have some exciting news, the Backerkit surveys have been released to everyone! Check your email inboxes (and your junk folders) to make sure you have received yours.

So, what does this mean for you?

Backerkitis a third-party pledge manager service that integrates with Kickstarter. We use it to give you, our amazing backers, the opportunity to purchase extra add-ons (in addition to automatically pulling your already purchased Kickstarter pledge into it), for collect any relevant shipping fees, and confirm your delivery address information all under a single roof.

All of this information is collected via the Backerkit survey which is sent to your Kickstarter-associated email address (each survey is unique to every backer and contains your specific Kickstarter pledge information already included).

This means that you will receive an email in your inbox from BackerKit, asking that you fill in this survey as soon as possible. Please note, it will take time for these to reach everyone's accounts. So, if yours isn't yet linked to your BackerKit, rest assured - it is on the way.

You will need a Backerkit account in order to complete your survey. If you don’t have one already you should be prompted to create one when you click the link in the survey email. Alternatively, you can create one now by following this link here.

*please note, if you used Apple Pay to pay for your Kickstarter pledge then your email address associated with your pledge may have overridden your email address with one ending in @privateappleid. If this is the case, you will need to message us with the correct email address you would like your BackerKit Survey sent to. Please message us via the Kickstarter inbox with the correct address and we can amend this for you*

VAT information for our Canadian, European, and UK backers

Value Added Tax is relevant in several countries, and it is our legal obligation to ensure proper accounting for VAT for packages destined for countries where it applies. We appreciate your understanding regarding these additional charges, emphasizing that they are not imposed by Haggard Time Games.

The shipping cost indicated in your BackerKit survey already includes VAT. If the amount appears slightly higher than expected based on the estimated charges shown on our Kickstarter campaign page, it is due to this inclusion. Your checkout summary will clearly outline the specific amounts attributed to VAT.

Just a quick note that some of you may have received an early Backerkit survey in your inboxes. This is a smoke-test sent to 17 of you as preparation for sending out the whole lot this coming Monday.

These are legitimate surveys and if you receive one, you should absolutely use them as such.

So check your email to see if you got yours early, otherwise expect one coming through early next week :)

Hey Time Keepers! We are delighted to share the upcoming developments for Chronomancer’s Guide to the Future: Part II project! 

Our schedule beyond the Kickstarter phase outlines important dates for you all to keep in mind leading up to the fulfillment beginning in August 2024. While we'll consistently remind everyone of these dates, we suggest marking some key points on your calendars to stay informed about the Prime Timeline. Without further delay, here is the Post-Kickstarter Schedule!

Key Dates and Events:

• Check your pledge: NOW!
• BackerKit Surveys sent: Week of December 4, 2023
• Playtest/Alpha Release period: Week of December 25, 2023 - January 22, 2024 AEST
• Lock orders (continuous) : Week of January 10, 2024

We strongly recommend backers to ensure the success of their pledges through Kickstarter, as only successful pledges can be fulfilled. While issues may arise during this stage of the process, unfortunately, we are not able to assist in payment matters with your pledge—this is a matter solely between you and your bank. If you encounter difficulties and believe we could provide additional insights, please feel free to reach out to us via the Kickstarter inbox.

BackerKit Surveys Sent: Week of December 4

This is a critical date for backers to remember. During the week of December 4, 2023, BackerKit surveys will be distributed, providing backers with updated and accurate shipping costs and allowing backers to include additional items in their pledges. As indicated in our Kickstarter details, your pledge receipt on Kickstarter will display " $0.00 for shipping" since shipping charges are not collected via Kickstarter for this project, but are determined during the survey phase through BackerKit. It's essential to note that your shipping costs will be finalized upon receipt of your BackerKit survey.

We plan to conduct a "smoke test" by sending out surveys to a select group of backers before the general survey distribution. This early release aims to assess our process and gather feedback from those who receive the survey in advance.

Furthermore, any extra funds pledged on Kickstarter will be reflected as "credit" within BackerKit. This credit can be utilized to acquire "add-ons" during the survey phase.

For backers who are new to Kickstarter, BackerKit serves as a third-party "pledge management" service closely aligned with Kickstarter. We understand that this might be a bit confusing for those unfamiliar with the process. If you're new to BackerKit, please follow these steps:

1. Upon receiving survey invitations (week of December 4, 2023), you'll get an email from '[email protected]' titled 'Response Needed – Get your reward from The Chronomancer’s Guide to the Future: Part II.' Click the link in the email to access your survey.

2. Complete the survey, including any additional "add-ons" you wish to purchase, and proceed to the shipping payment section.

3. The shipping payment section is where we collect charges for shipping, especially crucial if your pledge includes physical items like a hardcover book.

If you don't have a BackerKit account, use this link to create one. Ensure that you use the same email used for your Kickstarter pledge to link your pledge to your BackerKit account. It's important to note that completing the BackerKit survey is mandatory for all backers to receive their items. Orders without a completed survey cannot be fulfilled, so please ensure its completion to receive your items.

VAT Note for CA/EU/UK backers: Value Added Tax (VAT) is applicable to CA, EU, and UK backers, and the amounts depend on each country's VAT laws. Whether VAT is charged for digital products varies by country. If you notice a VAT charge for our PDF or other electronic products, it is due to legal requirements in your country of residence, and we are obligated to comply with these laws. For any VAT-related queries, please contact us via the Kickstarter inbox.

Playtest/Alpha Release period

We plan to unveil an Alpha/Playtest PDF for The Chronomancer’s Guide to the Future: Part II on or around Christmas, December 25th, 2023. Following the release of this early access version, we will be seeking your feedback to allow for any necessary adjustments before finalizing the book. Due to the anticipated volume of feedback, we will be managing it through a Google Form or a similar platform. To ensure your feedback is duly acknowledged and considered, kindly submit it through the official form rather than via email, comments, or any alternative method. We extend our gratitude to all backers who opt to participate in Playtesting, contributing to the refinement of The Chronomancer’s Guide to the Future: Part II.

BackerKit Lock Orders (continuous): Week of January 10

This is the date that we will be locking down all orders and changes through BackerKit. Don’t worry, you can still change and update your shipping addresses.

BackerKit Charge Cards (continuous): Week of January 15

Card charges will be processed through BackerKit during this week. In the event you miss the initial card charge, there's no need for concern. We will make successive attempts to charge failed or missed cards on a weekly basis until all orders are successfully paid and confirmed.

It's important to be aware that orders cannot be dispatched to backers whose cards have failed to be charged once we reach the fulfillment stage. Therefore, we strongly advise all backers to confirm the availability of funds during the week of January 15 to ensure timely delivery of your pledge.

BackerKit Lock Addresses: June 2024

During this month, we will be locking down all shipping address changes through BackerKit. Up until this date you’ll be able to log into BackerKit and change your address. The process of changing addresses once you’ve submitted your Kickstarter pledge will be dependent on where in the production and fulfilment process we are. We encourage all backers to use an address (if possible to the individual) that you’re as certain as you can be, will be secure in 12 months’ time as changing addresses after we've locked does present a number of challenges.

*Please note, we can’t ship to PO, APO, FPO, CPO Boxes and/or Parcel Lockers. If you do enter this type of address, we will not be able to deliver your pledge. So please ensure you enter a street address in BackerKit.

Fulfillment: shipping to start from August 2024

What we’re all here for, the much-anticipated fulfillment time! We are committed to meeting this deadline to the best of our abilities, but we kindly ask for your understanding as unforeseen global events beyond our control, such as the conflict in Ukraine, may impact this date. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we navigate any challenges together.

We did it everyone - thank you so much for all your support!

Folks, we can't believe it, we have officially finished the funding period of this project and we are so grateful to all of our backers and supporters for The Chronomancer's Guide to the Future Part 2!

Some of you are returning for a second journey through time, and some of you are new to this chaotic world of time travel, but without each and every one of you, this project wouldn't be in the amazing place it is now. With the funds raised on this Kickstarter, we are so well-placed to make this the best suite of products it can be and able to officially bring Clint's dream and vision to life!

We would also like to give out some thanks to some partners in this journey, who without their help, we wouldn't have made it this far at all:

Next Stretch Goal Unlocked!

Also, during the final hours, WE HIT ANOTHER STRETCH GOAL! Two brand new Departments (a new subsystem enticing time travel adventures within the Spinning Wheel):

• RETCONnaissance Office - Affectionately known as "The Cleaners", the RETCONnaissance Office is called in whenever Timekeeper efforts cause undue deviation to the Prime Timeline. Their Timekeepers spend a lot of time within the Prime Material plane, monitoring as a "boots on the ground" response unit and providing expert up-to-date confirmation regarding any deviation in their assigned time period. 
• Department of Propaganda - The DOP, much like the Department of Fate, are a highly classified timeline security force that reports directly to the Director of the Spinning Wheel. Their Timekeepers are specifically tasked with social subterfuge and misdirection campaigns designed to hide the existence of the Spinning Wheel and time travel.

$25k Funded and New Stretch Goal Unlocked! Sticker Time!

WOWEE! $25,000!!! We have officially made it to 250% funded and with that, we’ve unlocked the next Stretch Goal - STICKER TIME!

This is our first stretch goal that introduces a brand-new physical product addition to your physical pledge tiers. A set of Official Spinning Wheel stickers - so you can show your loyalty to the Wheel right at the gaming table!

This stretch goal will only be included in Level 2 and Level 3 pledge tiers (the Physical tiers), so if you want to pledge your allegiance to the Spinning Wheel, make sure you’re in one of those two tiers.

What’s Next? Next Stretch Goal up at the $30,000 mark, we have two whole new Departments getting added to the book (bolstering the new Department sub-system even further) to give you even more bang for your buck with playable content.
